I wish I were talking about the weather! Of course, soon enough it will begin to cool down, and the cooler temperatures that come with the fall season and football will arrive. In the meantime, the “cool” I’m talking about here…is work. Sounds weird, right?
I really do believe I have the coolest job in the world. I work for a boss that allows me to do what I want, when I want (me). Of course, that boss (still me) also has to figure out how to pay the bills, so the hours are often very long! But as the old saying goes, when you love what you do, it really doesn’t feel like work at all!
I am reminded of that as I look through some of the features we have for you this month. Come along with us as we spend a day at Huntsville’s Bruce Brothers Regional Airport. There’s a lot more going on out there than you may think! We’ll introduce you to Dan Phillips (a guy right here in Huntsville), who is known nationally and even internationally and believes everyone can make a difference in their own corner of the world. Our business focus this month features Alpha Omega Academy, a place that has meant a lot to our family and has taught me, as a parent, the meaning of (and differences in) a classical education. Plus, we’ll introduce you to a remarkable Texas history museum in an unlikely place! And finally, if you’re up for a short road trip, we’ll help you discover some of the unique fun and acoustic music that can be found in Crockett at the Camp Street Café and Store, a venue owned and run by Pipp Gillette, of the legendary Gillette Brothers.
All in all, very cool stuff! Hope you think so, too!
Until next time ~ Karen
