DREAMS DO COME TRUE! 

In the Fall of 2020, Leslie Moore was busy designing swimming pools for their family pool business in Conroe. As she was working with a client one day, she mentioned that her life’s passion was to have a bakery and bistro. To Leslie’s astonishment, her client’s immediate response was, 

“I’m selling my bakery. Would you be interested in buying it?” 

After the shock wore off, enthusiasm set in, and within a month Leslie became the new owner of “Heavenly Cakes & Flowers.” The dream became reality, and the sweet journey began! And, as Leslie puts it, “God said, ‘I’m going to give you the chance.’”

Heavenly Cakes & Flowers is located on Loop 336 in Conroe and offers a full line of floral products and services, as well as a growing list of bakery and specialty food products. In fact, Leslie and her team can meet the complete array of needs for all events where flowers, light catering, and specialty cakes are a must, and can do so in unique and creative ways. Leslie earned several degrees, including degrees in art, interior design, and interior architectural design and taught high school art for 24 years. Her creativity and ingenuity have taken center stage in this new endeavor, and her customers are truly blessed to enjoy the pleasing and delicious results! Her daughter Sarah has shared this same dream and, from her earliest years, has been beside her mom baking and decorating cookies by the thousands. Her creative touch shines as well!

Upon entering, a charming collection of tables and chairs greets and beckons each guest to relax, enjoy the ambience of friendships and soft music, sip a cappuccino, and treat yearning tastebuds to the freshly baked creations of the day. These may include one of the several varieties of alcohol-infused cupcakes including Peach Wine, Pink Moscato, Lemon Vodka, or Champagne flavors. Oh! And don’t forget to try the Dark Chocolate Red Wine or the Fireball Whiskey varieties, along with traditional favorites of chocolate and vanilla. Every day offers its own selections, and bakery manager Rachael Leblanc, along with Britney Swinner, are constantly moving new ideas from the drawing board to the bakery shelves, ready to delight when you visit this eclectic, funky, vintage, halfway hippie—and comfortable—coffee, bakery, and flower shop! Sink into a cushy chair and enjoy free Wi-Fi as you get your day in order! Peruse the delightful works of art which adorn every nook and cranny of wall space.

Do you need cookies for a special occasion? You have come to the right place. With hundreds of specialty cookie cutter shapes on hand, any occasion can be accommodated in the sweetest of ways! Additionally, a nice variety of cookies and brownies are always available, as well as new lines of bakery goods, inspired by Emma Kemper, a new member of the team. Through her influence, the bakery now offers several gluten-free, vegan, and keto products which are becoming immensely popular. When not at the shop, she will text new ideas to Leslie, who is always eager to “try something new.” It is always a treat to check the Facebook page to see what theme is being celebrated and what flavors are “in store” for the day.

Leslie and her staff welcome you and your friends to utilize the comfort and charm of the shop as you meet for your study club, bunko group, or birthday party. Call ahead of time, and they will eagerly do their best to accommodate the needs of your group. Leslie, Dorothy, Rachael, Julia, Britney, Kevin, Emma, and daughter Sarah (when in town) look forward to making you feel at home and to provide you with top-of-the-line service within their specialty areas.

Julia Pavelock, the floral manager, has been with the business for 40 years, and at the age of 75, can outdo many a younger person in hard work and commitment. She and Kevin Chapman are known for their stunning floral arrangements and will make every attempt to accommodate the customers’ every wish. From weddings to funerals, each detail is important. Gorgeous flowers and the timeless tradition of “something old” were beautifully wedded together into a one-of-a-kind bridal bouquet featuring “the old” lace from the mother’s wedding gown gently adorning her daughter’s bouquet as the new bride enjoyed her own special day. And commenting on the flowers at a funeral, a family member remarked, “This is really lovely and nice.” The mourner’s shattered feelings were soothed by the artistry and beauty of the lovely florals. In addition to the bakery and floral products, a fanciful collection of jewelry, crafted by local artisans, along with t-shirts, candles, fragrances, and home décor items are all available for purchase. Leslie, with the help of business manager Dorothy Sherling, continues to grow the business, expanding the product and gift lines to include more fun, fanciful, and tasty offerings. Going forward, Leslie plans to add a simple breakfast menu and eventually an abbreviated lunch menu as well. From weddings, quinceaneras, birthdays, graduations and other celebrations and events, Heavenly Cakes & Flowers can serve as your “One stop shop!” A visit to the store will treat all your senses— taste, touch, smell, hearing, and seeing— to an endless variety of good things!
