Spring showers…life-giving water…green landscapes return…flowers bloom…life springing forth—rebirth! The Creator, with infinite wisdom, planned for and implemented a process of renewal for the earth—and for us. It brings to mind the words of a prayer song:
Make me new, Lord Jesus, make me new. For it seems that in so many ways, I’m not enough like you. Take this weary vessel I have been and mold me once again. Take my life, take my spirit. Make me new…
Seasons come and go. If you’re like me, sometimes you forget to turn the page of the calendar. That doesn’t freeze time or keep seasons from changing in the world around us…not so with people, however. If our mind builds walls, we can freeze our heart in time. What season are you in? Don’t let the Father of Lies trick you into cheating yourself out of the renewal your Creator designed to spring forth within you!
“Remember not the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.
Isaiah 43:18-19 ESV
The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. “The Lord is my portion,” says my soul, “therefore I will hope in him.”
Lamentations 3:22-24 ESV
