Women from throughout Walker County gathered Friday, August 28, for the 2026 Be You Women’s Luncheon, hosted by the Huntsville-Walker County Chamber of Commerce and presented by Entergy.
Held at the Walker County Storm Shelter, the annual luncheon offered an opportunity to step away from the workday, connect with other women in the community and spend a little time focused on personal and professional growth.
This year’s keynote speaker, Christine Wolf Hoover, MA, LPC, was a highlight of the afternoon. An author, licensed therapist, small business owner and self-described adventurer at heart, Hoover brought a wonderful mix of humor, honesty and practical wisdom to her message. Drawing from her professional experience as well as her own life, she encouraged women to embrace growth, build emotional resilience and find the courage to navigate life’s unexpected turns.
Her relatable style had the room listening, laughing, and at times, reflecting on their own.
Another special moment came with the presentation of the Be You Bloom Award, awarded to Stacey Smith in recognition of her service, positive impact, entrepreneurship, and the way she encourages and inspires those around her.
With its theme of “Invest in yourself. Invest in your development. Invest in your community,” the luncheon was a fitting reminder of the value of women coming together to learn, encourage one another and simply enjoy being together
